[Also in Group XVII] A stopper with a hollow body 1, ribs 4 and a ring 5 over which lie two appendages 6 by means of which the stopper may be withdrawn is injection moulded in a mould constituted by a member C formed by a cylindrical body 10 having a cavity corresponding to the external surface of the stopper excluding ring 5 and appendages 6, and parallel bores 13, a member D movable relatively to member C, a member E of parts 14, 15 rigidly fixed to each other and a member F composed of a part 16 and two rods 17 screwed thereinto and each terminating in a head 18. Members D and E co-operate to form ring 5 and members D and F form the appendages 6, the members 14, 16 being relatively movable longitudinally but a stud 22 preventing relative rotation. A member G formed by a part 19 surrounding a part 20 and fixed thereto by a screw 21 completes the mould assembly and co-operates with part 10 to de-limit the internal surface of the stopper and its internal tubular portion 8. Member G is screwed into a fixed member B the remainder of the mould members being movable between members A and B. In the lower position injection is carried out through an orifice 24 and an upward tractive force applied to part 11 lifts the assembly until rods 26 contact member D and the appendages 6 are forced to fold back through 90 degrees and escape through passages at right angles to the plane of the paper, when member E is no longer supported and falls on to a member F. The continuing upward movement of members C, D causes D to be held back by rods 26 relative to member C to expel the stopper from part 10.
