Abstract

717,919. Switches held set and freed mechanically. GREGG, W. G. D., and GREGG ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Nov. 29,1951 [Sept. 11, 1951], No. 21378/51. Class 38(5), [Also in Group XXXVI] A readily replaceable switch comprises a base plate 10 on the rear face of which are mounted plug pins 24-26 and contact strips 21-23 connected thereto. The ends of the strips are overlapped, the end of strip 21 projecting between the spaced ends of strips 22, 23 and adapted to contact either, to connect pin 24 to either of pins 25 and 26, according to the position of a cam 37 carried by a housing 14 enclosing the contact strips, cam 37 being actuated by a pivoted dolly 18 projecting through an aperture 17 in the plate 10. The plug pins project through the housing 14 and are adapted to engage socket contacts 44-46 mounted on a base plate 42 of a socket connector installed in the circuit to be controlled. One of the strips 22, 23 may be omitted when the switch is required for one-way operation only.
