Class 141 A glove, closely shaped to the hand. is provided in the part 10 covering the back of the hand with one or more slits 11 extending in the direction of the fingers and closed by pleated inserts 17, which relieve the hand of compression and avoid excessive stressing of the stitching of the glove when the hand is closed. In Fig. 1 a zip fastener 21 extends along the part 10 from the edge 19 to a point approximately equidistant from the slits 11. A zip fastener may be provided in line with and in extension of the lateral stitching along the glove at the side of the little finger. the part 10 being shaped to expose a wrist watch 24, Fig. 5 and Fig. 3 (not shown). In another embodiment the glove has an elastic cuff made of knitted material such as wool. The thumb, index finger and crotch may be covered by a flexible protective strip 35 having at least the same width as the front surface of the index finger and extending with its extremities almost to the end of the index finger and thumb and secured to the glove along its edge only by lines of stitching -which lie outside the crooked line of stitching securing the thumb to the glove in the region of the crotch.
