697,889. Ventilating garments. REGENPFEIFER-MANTEL GES. Nov. 8, 1951, No. 26177/51. Class 141. Means for ventilating waterproof garments comprises outer and inner fabric layers 1, 2, each having a plurality of incisions 4 forming co-operating pairs in the two layers to provide ventilating passages 7, each incision in the inner layer being covered by the material of the outer layer to prevent penetration of water and the two layers being secured together at 6 between the co-operating pairs. The incisions 4 in the outer layer 1 are preferably arc-shaped and downwardly curved whilst those in the inner layer 2 are arc shaped and upwardly curved as shown, or are straight.
