Abstract

665,655. Spray-producers &c. PEST CONTROL, Ltd. April 6, 1950 [April 6, 1949], No. 9436/49. Class 69 (iii). Apparatus for distributing liquid with the aid of electrostatic forces includes a distributor surface having a serrated, pointed edge, means for supplying liquid to the surface which is rotated to reject the liquid in the form of droplets from the said points, and means for 'applying an electric charge to the liquid. In one embodiment, liquid from a pipe 1, Fig. 1, is thrown off a rotated.disc 2, the disc and electrically conducting rings 4 being connected to the opposite poles of a generator. A number of such discs may be carried on one axle. Alternatively, a hollow cylindrical electrically charged chamber 10, Fig. 2, fed with liquid from a pipe 12 is rotated on a shaft 1.1, the liquid being ejected through slots 13 having lugs 14, with serrated edges, bent outwardly'. Rings 15 carry an opposite charge. Alternatively the distributor may be earthed and the rings charged, or vice versa. Specification 647,394 is referred to.
