[Class 89 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] A snap stud fastener, particularly for use in securing a layer of heat insulating material B and a trim surface C to the dash A of a motor car, is made from a flat strip of resilient material such as cold rolled steel, the body 22 of the stud being bent up into channel form and the head being integrally attached at 12 and secured in place by tongues 13 on the shank passing through holes 14 in the head and being bent over. The sides of the shank have ratchet like teeth 25, a pair of which engage the inner edge of the dash A according to the thickness of the applied material. The head may be sealed by a natural or artificial rubber cap 18 or by a cap of other plastic material.
