Abstract

Resinous organo-silicon products are prepared by condensing one or more organo-silicon halides with one or more silicon halides. 386 c.cs. of a mixture comprising equal parts by weight of dimethyl silicon dichloride and methyl silicon trichloride are mixed with 60 c.cs. of silicon tetrachloride and the mixture dissolved in ether, the solution being then poured into a mixture of ether and ice. The cloudy ether layer is separated and evaporated, the residual product being dissolved in toluol which is evaporated off at 150 DEG C. to leave a colourless transparent resinous product. Specifications 542,655, 548,911, 548,912 and 551,649 are referred to.
