[Class 132 (ii)] A device for shuffling playing-cards and the like comprises a box C, Fig. 1, with a triangular interrupter A dividing the box into two compartments large enough to accommodate the cards without resting on the interrupter. The box is closed by a transparent slide B. A shutter S slidable to disclose one or other of the compartments may be provided. The cards are shuffled by tilting the device first in one direction and then in the other tc cause the cards to pass over the interrupter. The box C may have several compartments separated by interrupters. A series of devices may be assembled side by side. The compartments may be arranged to accommodate the cards lengthwise or crosswise, and the interrupter may be in two triangular portions one at each side of the box. The sides of the interrupter may be of step-like formation. In a modification, Fig. 4, a series of the devices C with interrupters A open at one end into a long compartment C<x> divided by further interrupters AX.
