476,105. Adjusting length of ropes &c. MARTIN, S. BOSWORTH-. May 1, 1936, No. 12419. [Class 109] A short length of pipe 1 hawing been placed loosely on a loop of rope &c. 4 and retained in place by the insertion of a cross-pin 2, the tail end 5 of the same rope is passed through the loop and the pipe is pressed down to cover the splice and cramp the pieces of rope together. An independent loop may be spliced in a rope and the return end of the rope passed through the end of the loop remote from the splice. In this case the cross-pin is placed at the end of the pipe nearest the splice.
