[Class 20 (iv)] The joint between adjacent wall tiles 2, which are secured to a wall surface by mastic cement, is covered by the head or outer flange ly of a metal strip 1 located between the tiles and grooved to engage loosely the adjacent edges of the tiles on each side to permit the escape of moisture from the wall plaster or the mastic bedding securing the tiles in position. The tiles are fixed to the wall bv spaced lumps 4 of cement so as to be spaced from the wall surface, and the width of the grooves of the metal strips is such as to ensure the desired loose engagement with the tile edges. The strip 1, which is of lead or other metal, may be provided with plain head and rear flanges 1y, 1x as shown in the Figure, with the rear flanges 1x of greater width than the head flanges 1y, or the head flanges 1y may be of grooved or angular form. The strip 1 may, alternatively, be bent from sheet-metal so that the head flange is in the form of a bead. The tiles may be of glass or earthenware, and the head flanges of the strip 1 may be coloured.
