Abstract

468,920. Vacuum cleaners; pipe joints. ELECTROLUX, Ltd. Nov. 20, 1936, No. 31835. Convention date, Nov. 26, 1935. [Classes 8 (i) and 99 (i)] A vacuum-cleaner nozzle for picture rails &c. comprises a pair of hollow members respectively open to the suction conduit and suction mouth and relatively rotatable about their plane circular joint 19 which is oblique to their axes, the two parts being held together by a resilient clamp such as the band 23 having studs at the ends pressing into recesses, or a band encircling the two parts of the joint. Bosses on one joint face may cooperate with grooves in the other to hold the nozzle in certain positions of adjustment. The nozzle carries a brush supported by a rubber tubulus 14 and protected by a rubber strip 16. Ribs in the hemispherical members 17, 18 reduce the noise caused by the air current.
