Abstract

463,235. Bicycles; mudguards. SEBEK, R. Aug. 15, 1936, No. 22547. [Classes 136 (i) and 136 (iii)] [Also in Groups XXXII and XXXIII] Road wheels for bicycles, are arranged as double wheels for each track the individual wheels being arranged one behind the other in laterally staggered relation and each being secured to an arm of a double-armed lever movable about a horizontal axis on the vehicle. Figs. 1 and 2 show double wheels 7 arranged as above on a double-armed lever 4 rotatable about a horizontal axis 3 secured to the frame 1. The wheels 7 are adjustable along the lever and one of them may be held off the ground by a chain 50 if desired. Figs. 7 and 8 show an arrangement for the rear wheels of a bicycle, the rear fork 22 of which has pivoted thereto an S - shaped lever on which the wheels 27 are rotatably mounted, the rear wheel being the smaller so that a streamlined mudguard 43 may be applied.
