Abstract

315,971. Sarason, D. June 22, 1928. Addition to 278,498. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Heating and cooling appliances.-In a heating and cooling appliance for treating the vagina in which a thin rubber bladder b is inserted in the part to be treated and hot or cold water is then forced into the bladder from a water bag a, the neck b<1> of the bladder b is thickened so that it is held securely on a thick olive c<1> provided on a connection piece. The thickening may be obtained by dipping the neck into a rubber solution and allowing it to dry, the operations being repeated a number of times. A tube h for the introduction of the bladder b into the part to be treated and a smaller olive c<2> inserted into the end of a flexible tube i extending from the bag a are also provided on the extension piece. A clamp k or a cock on the tube i or on the olive c', serves to cut off the connection between the bag a and the bladder b. The bag a may be used simultaneously, e.g. as a hot water bottle, for external treatment of the abdomen.
