Abstract Title: Dental floss with tapered brush (57) A flexible string of dental floss 2 has a set of bristles which form a double cone shaped brush member 1 that tapers from each side of a wider central portion. Preferably the string 2 is a continuous length running centrally through the brush member 1. The string 2 may be a single unit of length 250 mm with the brush member 1 positioned centrally along the string length, or a 2000 mm long reel with a repeating sequence of brush members 1. The double cone shaped formation may enable the brush 1 to enter gaps along the gum line, between teeth, and under dental bridges from one of its leading narrow ends before expanding to the thicker central portion to push out trapped food.

Brush Floss
There are some areas in the month within the teeth that needs more attention however there are no practical products which functions and does its job properly. The tooth floss’ in the market are not adequate for what we need to maintain a hygienic and healthy mouth. Therefore many people use toothpicks to tackle the problem when they want to get access to the areas that neither toothbrushes nor tooth floss’ cannot clean. Yet, not only does the tooth pic lack the required flexibility of movement needed for a good clean, but it also damages the gums and enamel of your teeth.
Moreover, many of us spend a lot of money to replace our lost adult teeth by paying for a crown or a bridge. The gap between the gum and the ceiling of the crown is the most difficult place to get access to, when cleaning. Consequently, when the food stays there, it creates damage to the gum and also damages the healthy tooth next to the crown. This creates more damage and costs for the patient.
This invention is a flexible brush which is attached to a string to clean the neglected and unaccessible areas and gaps between the teeth and the gums - including the hidden areas between the ceiling of a crown and gum - with ease and feasibility.
The attached drawing shows this simple and practical product. This drawing illustrates the product and how it is made of two simple parts which is easily understandable for any user.
1. The Double Cone Shaped Brush:
This section of the product has been designed to work effectively and feasibly in both the above areas - to resolve the problem of cleaning between the normal/natural teeth as well as underneath the bridge (the crown and the pontic).
This part (1.) is the brush which is designed in the shape of two cones connected to each other. Using the simple element of attaching the brush to the flexible string (and not to a hard base like a toothpick), creates flexibility and comfort of use without damaging the gum in.
The purpose of this organic shaped, small to gradually growing cone-shaped brush is, to gently and without any struggle, run the bristles down the lining of the gum, between the teeth and under the artificial tooth.
Starting to clean between the normal teeth, the narrow tip of the brush helps a gentle move within the gaps while the thicker middle part opens up gradually and pushes the trapped food out.
In the crowns and bridges, once the bristles has passed the more narrow areas between the gum to run under the artificial tooth, the middle part of the brush expands and opens up underneath and expands (thicker part of the bristles) easily, accessing between the ceiling of the crown and the surface of the gum; giving that hard to access area a good and effective clean by pushing the trapped food out gently.
2. The String
It is a simple string which the brush is attached to it as it’s base. The string helps the movement of the brush smoothly and effectively in hard to access areas and hidden gaps. It also eliminates the risk of damage that is caused by devices like tooth picks.
Every string has a length of 10 centimetre and the brush is attached to the middle. However it can come in a reel with longer strings and having the brush attached in every 10 centimetre.
