Abstract

A disposable nappy and incontinence pad which is environmentally friendly, reduces odour in dustbins and reduces contamination at land fill sites. Preferably the nappy has an inner layer 3 made from perforated paper with perforations 4 and tabs 1 overhanging the waist band which enable it to be removed and flushed down the toilet. The outer layer of the nappy may be disposed of in a dustbin. The nappy may be fastened with adhesive tabs 2.

<p>I.Tabs to pull inner perforated layer off 2. Adhesive tab to hold on nappy securely 3. Inner perforated layer made of flushable paper 4. Perforations On the inside of the nappy, next to the baby's skin the top layer of paper (no. 3) has tabs (no. 1) at each end which overhang waistband,and perforations (no 4).</p>

<p>Drawing 2 of 2 shows how to remove soiled layer by pulling tabs When soiled nappy needs changing, instead of placing in dustbin, the top layer of (flushable) perforated paper is removed from rest of nappy by pulling tabs (no 1) at each end. This can then be flushed down toilet. The contamination on the rest of the nappy, which eventually goes to a land refill site, will have greatly been reduced. This will also reduce the smell from dustbins which are now usually emptied every 2 weeks.</p>

<p>The above would also apply to incontinence pads.</p>
