COOLING SYSTEM FOR POWER TOOLS

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a cooling system for power tools, and more particularly to such a cooling system having a waterproof structure.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional power tool is commonly arranged with a set of cooling system for cooling a motor of the power tool, and the cooling system includes an air inlet, a fan and an air outlet. However, the conventional cooling system does not have a waterproof function, or can not meet the requirement of a waterproof function well.

When water is used to cool cutting tools during cutting operation of some power tools, water will enter into the interior of the power tool, which may impact operation or cause permanent damage to the power tool The power tool, such as a tile cutter, needs to be continuously cooled by water to cool the cutting blade and the cutting surface thereof during operation, and therefore the water can easily enter the interior of the housing, and consequently affects nonnal use of the tool. Even if for the power tool which does not need to be cooled by water, water may enter the interior of the motor thereof due to rain or snow weather when being operated out-of-doors.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An object of the present invention is to provide a cooling system for power tools which has a waterproof function, simple in structure and reliable in fimction.

To obtain the above-mentioned object, a cooling system for power tools disclosed by the present invention including, a fan, an air inlet, and an air outlet, the air inlet includes a waterproof member, the air outlet includes a air-guiding plate and a air-guiding cover, and the top portions of the air-guiding plate and the air-guiding cover being curved.

The advantages of the present invention are as follows: the cooling system has a waterproof function, and may guide water to flow in a reverse direction, with simple structure and reliable function.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

The detailed description of the present invention will be further illustrated accompany with drawings, wherein Fig. I is a perspective view of an electric circular saw with a cooling system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention; Fig. 2 is an exploded view of the electric circular saw of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the electric circular saw of Fig. 1; Fig. 4 is a schematic diagram showing the working principle of the air outlet of the electric circular saw of Fig. 1.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE JNVENTION:

Referring to Figs. 1-3, a cooling systcm for an electric circular saw 100 comprises a fan 12, an air inlet 1, and an air outlet 2, the air inlet I comprises a waterproof member 9, the air outlet 2 comprises an air-guiding plate 5 and an air-guiding cover 6, which define a ventilation passage 20 therebetween, and open end of the passage 20 bends downwardly. In this preferred embodiment a top portion 51 of the air-guiding plate S and a top portion 61 of the air-guiding cover 6 are both formed with an arc surface along the ventilation passage 20. Seal rings 4 hold the air-guiding plate 5 and the air-guiding cover 6 between a gear box 3 and a motor housing 8. Preferably, the air-guiding plate 5 has a plurality of air-guiding vanes 52 for facilitating air exhaust from the air outlet 2. The air inlet I is disposed adjacent a tail portion 10 of the motor housing of the electric circular saw 100. The waterproof member 9 is a waterproof filter device, so that water is prevented from entering an inner component 7 of the electric circular saw 100 from the air inlet I. The waterproof member is widely used and well known in the mechanical field, so the filter device of the present invention is not limited to the structure described above and shown in the drawings, other structures known by persons skilled in the mechanical field may also available.

Fig. 4 shows a working principle diagram of the air outlet 2 of the electric circular saw 100. When the electric circular saw 100 is normally working, the fan 12 is activated to cool the motor 14 of the electric circular saw 100, and thereby heated air is blown out along the ventilation passage 20 between the air-guiding plate 5 and the airguiding cover 6. When water drops adjacent the air outlet 2, the top portions of the air-guiding plate 5 and the air-guiding cover 6 may guide the water in a reverse direction along the curved surfaces thereof, so that the water can not enter the electric circular saw 100 and influence to nonnal use of the machine is avoided.

According to the present invention, the top portions of the air-guiding plate 5 and the air-guiding cover 6 are both formed with an arc surface, which is a pTeferred embodiment of the present invention. The present invention may have the top portions of the air-guiding plate 5 and the air-guiding cover 6 with other curved surfaces, and the structures which can obtain the same object of the present invention are also be protected by the present invention.

The present invention is not limited to the above-mentioned embodiment It is obvious and easily understood for a person skilled in the art that the cooling system of the present invention may have various modifications or alternatives without departing from the principlo and conccption of the present invention. The protection scope of the present invention is defined by the appended claims.
