Abstract

A loading ramp comprises ramp part 1A fixed to the vehicle floor 12, ramp part 1B fixed to 1A at hinge 3 allowing 1B to be stowed in a vertical position and split ramps (9A, 9B) fixed to 1B at hinges (7) with removable pins to allow the split ramps to be removed for storage. The ramp further includes a support and bracket (4 and 13) under ramp part 1B to transfer the load of the ram to the rear structure of the vehicle and a winch 11 to pull a load such as a pallet truck or dolly along the ramp by means of attachment eyes on the load. The ramp may bridge the rear edge of the vehicle floor and may include a step (5) in part 1B to prevent the ramp touching the rear edge of the vehicle floor. The ramp may be made from aluminium and the removable hinge pins from stainless steel.

<p>Description</p>

<p>Loading Ramp with ramp Attachment for Loading Pallets and Pallet Hand Truck with Electric Winch onto a vehicle.</p>

<p>I. The Ramp is attached to a double hinge bracket to allow bridging of the rear edge of the vehicle floor.</p>

<p>2. This Hinged bracket is fitted to the rear floor of the vehicle and under this hinged Bracket is a support that transfers the weight of the ramp and load to the rear structure of the vehicle.</p>

<p>3. The ramp is a split Aluminium light weight ramp attached to the Hinged Bracket using two removable stainless steel hinge pins one through each of the ramps inserted from the sides.</p>

<p>4. The Ramps are stepped to stop load bellying on the floor at the top of the ramp.</p>

<p>5. A pallet truck or caster wheeled dolly is pulled up and released down the ramp by a fixed remote controlled electric winch mounted in the front of the loading area of the vehicle.</p>

<p>6. The pallet truck or Dolly has winch attachment eyes fitted to each of the forks or middle of the dolly.</p>

<p>I am involved in the loading of vehicles with loads on Pallets this is normally performed with a Fork Lift Truck or a Hand Pallet Truck from a loading bay.</p>

<p>When our vehicle arrives at its delivery destination it needs the same to unload.</p>

<p>My invention allows self loading from ground level to the back of a vehicle using a Hand Pallet Truck or dolly and when this vehicle arrives at its destination the same Hand Pallet Truck or dolly can be unloaded.</p>

<p>The Winch enables the operator to move the load up and down the ramp with ease and the Hinges allow loading and unloading on varied surfaces.</p>

<p>After unloading the Hinged part of the ramp is folded back into the vehicle and the split parts of the ramp are stored in the vehicle.</p>

<p>The system I have invented will easily handle loads of up to 1000 Kg.</p>

<p>I have searched all reference material available to me and I cannot find anything like this invcntion I thcrcforc wish to patent this system as my invention.</p>

Claims (1)

1. <p>Claim: I The first part of the Ramp is fixed to the Vehicle and can be

   stowed vertical when travailing or when not in use using the retention lugs.</p>

   <p>2 The Ramps first hinge enables the load & Ramp to rest on the bracket at the reas of the Vehicle bridging the door plate and allowing smooth entry of the load into the Vehicle. (Not seen before.) 3 The second part of the Ramp is split and uses a Hinge with removable pins this makes the Ramps light easy to fit and able to use on uneven surfaces.</p>

   <p>(Not seen before.) 4 The step feature in the split Ramps stop the load bellying on the door plate at the top of the Ramp.</p>

   <p>This combination of features have not been used in the manufacture of a loading system and it is this combination that 1 claim as my invention.</p>
