Abstract

239,848. K÷ln-Lindenthaler Metallwerke Akt.-Ges. Sept. 11, 1924, [Convention date]. Spring devices.-Vibrations are damped by interengaging conical friction elements applied to the pivots of the spring fork connections of motor bicycles or to other pivoted spring elements. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1 in which the wheel fork 6 is connected to the frame tube 1 by links 5, 4, the ends of the lower links 4 are secured to cones 15, Fig. 3, which work in the coned ends of frame tubes 13, frictional material 14 being preferably interposed. The cones 15, at opposite ends of the frame tubes 13 are drawn together bv screwing them on the rod 16, lock nuts 20 being provided. Theholes in the ends of the links 4 are made hexagonal or are otherwise shaped to prevent rotation relativelv to the cones 15. but small lateral movement is permitted by spring washers 19.
