Abstract

225,411. Barnes, S. B. Jan. 17, 1924. Banjoes &c.-The vellum 9 and tension-ring 8 are supported by a ring member 1 somewhat of Z shape in cross-section having its upper portion 3 turned down as at 5 to embrace the body 7 of the instrument, and having its lower portion 4 turned upwards and over as at 6. The tension ring 8 is preferably of aluminium and is held by screws 10 and nuts 11. The nuts 11 are square and held against rotation by contact with the body of the instrument. The body 7 is preferably of ebonite, either cast, pressed or moulded, and polished. The concave back 13 when of metal is secured either by peripheral screws or by a central screw 14.
