SPECIFICATIONSunglasses or spectacles with interchangeable coloured or patterned framesThis invention relates to a pair of sunglasses or spectacles having a front lens frame and side arms extending rearwardly from the front frame.

Sunglasses and spectacles have only recently become available in assorted colours and although they vary in price enormously, it still seems extravagant to buy two or more pairs.

According to the present invention there is provided a pair of sunglasses or spectacles with front and side pieces which are readily attachable to or detachable from the front frame and side arms respectively. The front and side pieces can be made in a range of colours and patterns which are interchangeable; for example, a red front piece and red and white spotted side pieces. The front and side pieces may sit closely against the glasses so only the new colour or pattern can be seen.

One embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing which shows a perspective exploded view of a pair of sunglasses and the front and side pieces.

Referring to the drawing the sunglasses have several small holes punched into the front frame 4 and side arms 6. Front and side pieces 8 and 10 have projections 12 mounted thereon. The projections are dimensioned to make a push fit in the holes 2. The position of the holes 2 correspond to the projections 12 on the front and side pieces 8 and 10.

The front and side pieces clip onto the frame 4 and side arms 6. The front and side pieces can be quickly and easily pulled off the front frame 4 and side arms 6, and replaced by front and side pieces of a different colour.

2. A pair of sunglasses or spectacles as claimed in claim 1 in which the front and side pieces make a push fit on the front frame and side arms.

3. A pair of sunglasses or spectacles as claimed in claim 2 in which projections or holes on the front and side arms are dimensioned and spaced to make a push fit with complementary holes or projections on the front and side pieces.

4. A pair of sunglasses or spectacles substantially as herein described and shown in the accompanying drawings.

3. A pair of sunglasses or spectacles as claimed in claim 2 in which projections or holes on the front and side arms are dimensioned and spaced to make a push fit with complementary holes or projections on the front and side pieces.
