Abstract

An electronic timepiece comprises an oscillator circuit (1) for producing a standard time signal, a frequency divider circuit (2) for frequency dividing the standard time signal, a time display device (4) driven by the output of the divider circuit to display a time indication, a time setting circuit including a switching circuit (3) for selectively passing signals having different frequencies to the display device, and a counter circuit (5) arranged to control the switching circuit so that during a time setting operation the time indication displayed by the display device is advanced by e.g. ten minutes at a relatively slow rate and thereafter is advanced at a relatively rapid rate. After a further count is reached in the counting circuit, the switching circuit is again actuated so that setting thereafter proceeds once more at the relatively slow rate. <IMAGE>
