1527233 Electrodes for electromedical treatments F C BLEACH 2 April 1976 [29 April 1975] 17850/75 Heading A5R An electromedical electrode fitting comprises a pair of electrodes 7, 8 of flexible, conductive elastomeric material secured on, and relatively positioned by, insulating material comprising a soft, compressible layer 6 with a rigid backing 2, 3; and means for securing the fitting in position. As shown, electrodes of min, conductive silicone sheet are secured to a layer of plastics foam which is backed by a moulding 2, 3 of rigid plastic. The moulding may, as shown, be a two-part hinged construction with an electrode in each part, and secured by toggle fasteners 10 or by straps; or it may be a one-piece construction, Figs. 5-8 (not shown) secured by straps. The fitting may replace a splint for treatment of muscles of a fractured limb. Terminals 13 are for connection to a generator of faradic, interferential or other type of current.
