Abstract

1520355 Electrical measurement of temperature D W BURT 6 Sept 1976 and 2 Feb 1977 [13 July 1976] 28987/76 Heading G1N [Also in Divisions G4-6] A fire or temperature detector comprises a cable nl having a pair of conductors separated by PVC insulation whose electrical properties change with temperature and means connected to the conductors for detecting variations in the electrical properties. As shown, one end of the conductors are connected in one arm of a bridge n2 and a "padder" resistor n3 is connected across the conductor at their other ends. As described with reference to Fig. 1B (not shown), the bridge includes a differential amplifier whose analogue output is applied to alarm and fault relays.
