Abstract

The aerosol deodorant contains as component with deodorising activity an alkali metal bicarbonate with a particle size in the range from 10 to 100 microns. As further essential component it contains a suspending agent, a propellant gas and a carrier material which is soluble in the propellant but in which the alkali metal bicarbonate is insoluble. The carrier material can be volatile or involatile. The deodorant can easily be applied to the skin. If the carrier is volatile, it leaves behind on the skin a dry powder which consists essentially of the alkali metal bicarbonate. If the carrier is involatile, it leaves behind on the skin a film of the alkali metal bicarbonate and the involatile carrier.
