Abstract

1443099 Phthalocyanine pigments TOYO INK MFG CO Ltd 6 Aug 1974 [4 Sept 1973] 34683/74 Heading C4P A non-crystallizing and non-flocculating copper phthalocyanine pigment comprises (1) copper phthalocyanine or substituted copper phthalocyanine, or mixtures thereof and (2) from 0-5 to 30% by weight of (1) of a copper phthalocyanine of the general formula wherein Pc is a copper phthalocyanine residue, n is an integer from 1 to 4, R, R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>11</SP> are H, optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, and R and R<SP>1</SP> or R and R<SP>11</SP> may together complete a heterocyclic ring, e.g. morpholino, piperidine or homopiperidine. The second component is prepared by reacting a chloromethylated copper phthalocyanine with a compound HN(R<SP>11</SP>)N(R<SP>1</SP>)R in an inert solvent at 60-200‹ C. The pigments colour alkyl, melamine nitrocellulose and acrylic resin paints and printing inks.
