1426583 Automatic actuator for pressurized dispensers WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 11 May 1973 [25 May 1972] 22485/73 Heading F1R An automatic device for periodically actuating the metering valve of a dispensing container comprises a D.C. motor 32 coupled through a gear train 34 to a valve actuating element 22 having a face 56 engaging the valve button 24. The motor 32 is connected to a battery through a transistorized circuit Fig. 4 (not shown) whereby it is periodically energized to cause the rotation of element 22 to depress the button 24 until it engages the stop 28 whereon the motor stalls until de-energized by the timing circuit, after which the valve bias returns the valve and actuating train to its initial position, the resistance to motion of the train being arranged accordingly. In a modification Fig. 5 (not shown) the element 22 is replaced by a lever having at one end a quadrant meshing with the gear 52' and at the other end a manually actuable extension. An intermediate lobe engages the valve button. The motor circuit includes a push button to give immediate operation of the motor.
