1413323 Diesel fuel additive; lubricants UNITED LUBRICANTS Ltd 18 May 1973 [6 July 1972] 31683/72 Headings C5G and C5F A diesel fuel additive comprises (a) from 2À5- 7À0 wt. per cent of an ester of oleic acid or naphthenic acid having an acid number of less than 200, (2) from 0À5-5À0 wt per cent of a naphthenic acid ester of cresol, (3) from 0À5 to 5À0 wt. per cent of an alkoxyalkyl ester of an aliphatic carboxylic acid, (4) from 0À03 to 0À08 wt. per cent of an organometallic tricarbonyl cyclopentadiene, (5) from 0À50-2À5 wt. per cent of an amide derivative of a polyolefin obtained by the reaction of a polyolefin-substituted succinic acid or anhydride with a polyamine, (6) from 1À00 to 4 wt. per cent of a copolymer of ethylene and a vinyl (or hydrocarbyl substituted vinyl) ester of a carboxylic acid, number average molecular weight greater than 3000, (7) from 1-4 wt. per cent of a re-odorizer having a v.p. of less than 0À5 micron Hg at room temperature and consisting of a mixture of natural and synthetic alcohols, ketones and ethers, (8) from 10-25 wt. per cent of kerosene and (9) the balance of a petroleum distillate hydrocarbon mixture having a b.p. within the limits 285‹ to 495‹ C. and a pour point below 40‹ F. (1) may be ethyl oleate or ethyl naphthenate. (4) may be cyclopentadienyl manganese tricarbonyl. (9) may be a spindle oil.
