1410723 Dispensing money GAO GES FUR AUTOMATION UND ORGANISATION mbH 19 Jan 1973 [21 Jan 1972] 2933/73 Heading G4X [Also in Division B6] An automatic money dispensing system comprises a money dispensing machine controlled by the insertion of an identification card 31 and a voucher 43, and including means 40, 44 for examining the card and voucher for features of authenticity, means 41, 45 for reading binary coded information from the card and voucher, means for comparing the information read from the card with that read from the voucher to determine if the card and voucher relate to the same account, and means 47, 50 for effecting the dispensation of money if the card and voucher are genuine and relate to the same account. The card (Fig. 1, not shown) has areas (1), (2) on which bank name, account number, period of validity &c. are imprinted, a magnetic strip (3) in which binary coded information derived by scrambling and camouflaging from the account number is encoded and features of authenticity (4), (5) which consist for example of areas of radioactive material or fluorescent material or a grid shaped magnetic imprint. The voucher (Fig. 2, not shown) has areas (10), (12) on which are printed in clear text the bank name, account number, &c., an area (11) for receiving the user's signature, a line (13) of binary coded information derived from the account number, features of authenticity (14), (15) and a space (17) for receiving printing or a mark applied by the machine to indicate the amount dispensed. The binary coded information on the card and voucher may be identical but preferably the two pieces of information are related by a predetermined algorithm. The voucher also contains in area (16) one component of a two component colouring system, the other component of which is applied by a cancelling unit 46 in the machine. The voucher checking unit 44 includes means for determining whether the inserted voucher has been previously cancelled, and a unit 48 is provided to ensure that a voucher has been properly cancelled before dispensation can proceed. If the card and voucher are in order a transparent packet 51 of banknotes is dispensed, the card returned and the voucher collected for subsequent processing, if not both the card and voucher are collected.
