1375639 Light-duty liquid detergent composition PROCTER & GAMBLE Ltd 24 July 1973 [24 July 1972] 34527/72 Heading C5D A light-duty liquid detergent composition comprises an aqueous solution or dispersion containing (A) 10-25% by wt. of an alkyl sulphate of formula R 1 OSO 3 M<SP>1</SP>, (B) 10 to 25% by wt. of an alkyl ether sulphate of formula (C) 1À5 to 8% by wt. of a tertiary amine oxide of formula R 3 (CH 3 ) 2 N-#O, (D) 2-8% by wt. of an alkyl glyceryl ether sulphonate of formula R 4 OCH 2 CHOHCH 2 SO 3 M<SP>1</SP>, (E) 5-15% of a mono-, di- or tri-citrate of cation M<SP>1</SP>, (F) 2 to 10% by wt. of an alkanolamide of formula R 5 CONY 1 Y 2 provided that the total proportion of (A) + (B) + (C) + (D) + (F) is not more than 50%; in which formulµ R 1 and R 2 are each C 10 -C 16 alkyl; each of R 3 , R 4 and R 5 are C 10 -C 14 alkyl; n is 1 to 4; one or both of Y 1 and Y 2 is an ethanol or propanol residue of formula C n H 2n OH; and each M<SP>1</SP> is Na, K, NH 4 , C 1 -C 6 alkylamine or C 1 -C 6 alkanolamine. The alkyl groups may be derived from natural fats and oils or from synthetic or petroleum-derived fatty acids or alcohols. The citrates may be partially or fully neutralized and the final composition may have a pH of 5 to 9À5. Optional ingredients are (G) hydrotropes such as a salt of toluene, xylene or cumene sulphonate, (H) C 1 -C 4 alkanols, (I) conventional adjuvants.
