Abstract

1293660 Endless conveyers; packaging apparatus A SERAGNOLI E SERAGNOLI and M T CHIANTORE [trading as GD SAS DI ENZO SERAGNOLI E ARIOSTO SERAGNOLI] 19 April 1971 [2 Nov 1970] 26650/71 Headings B8A and B8C A conveyer used in the batching of cigarettes prior to packaging comprises an endless belt 1d provided with teeth le engageable with toothed pulleys 4, 5. The pulleys also have grooves 4a, 5a to receive plates 8, 8a used in securing cigarette containers la to the outer surface of the belt 1d. Protection for the conveyer is provided by side plates 11, 12 which, along the horizontal portions of the belt run, have guides 20, 21 for engagement with extensions 1f ,formed on the containers la. Except for the regions where a supply hopper 2 and a pusher device 3 operate, further side plates 20a, 21a are provided adjacent the open ends of the containers 1a. The pusher 3 feeds cigarettes from the hopper 2 into the intermittently moved containers at stations 2a, 2b, 2c. The belt tension is adjustable by screw means 14-19.
