1291021 Delivering sheets; cutting and folding apparatus IZDATELSTVO IZVESTIA 15 March 1971 6898/71 Heading B8R Sheets cut from the web issuing from a rotary printing press and folded at 13 are delivered by S-fly 14 into a stacking bin 16 provided with two horizontally displaceable receiving platforms 21 and 22 which may be controlled to deliver the sheets to a final receiving platform 37 in stacks of a predetermined size. The shelves forming the platform 21 are normally retracted to permit a stack to be assembled on platform 22. The shelves forming platform 22 are then retracted to permit a stack to fall on to platform 37 while subsequent sheets are intercepted by platform 21. The platform 37 is rotatable about a vertical axis such that each stack delivered thereto may be turned 180 degrees relative to the preceding and succeeding stacks. Packs of assembled stacks are transferred to conveyer 41. Sheets are stripped from the S-fly by a comb device 18. The folder may comprise longitudinal and transverse folding stations 12 and 13 respectively. The cutter may provide both longitudinal and transverse cuts.
