1283892 Hair nail and skin treating compositions I I LUBOWE 7 Jan 1971 [8 June 1970] 814/71 Heading A5B [Also in Division C5] A composition for application to hair, nails or skin comprises an aqueous solution of a quaternary ammonium compound and 0.1- 15% of at least one mucopolysaccharide or N- acetyl glucosamine. The quaternary ammonium compound may have antioxidant and antimicrobial action. Compounds specified are benzalkonium chloride, benzethonium chloride and lauryl pyridinium chloride. The mucopolysaccharide may be hyaluronic acid or chondroitin sulphate. Other ingredients specified are: p-chloro-m-xylenol, esters of hydroxybenzoic acid, imidazolidinyl urea, propylene glycol, hexylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, glucuronic acid, a nucleic acid, a tegobetaine, cystine, cysteine, cysteine hydrochloride, allantoin polygalacturonic acid, allantoin protein, watersoluble protein, hydrolysed protein, placenta extract, pantothenyl alcohol, stearic acid, isopropyl palmitate, glycerol monostearate, cetyl alcohol, ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid, lead acetate, colloidal sulphur, ethanol, glycyrol, hexachlorophene, triethanolamine, spermaceti wax, sodium citrate, mineral oil, lanolin, white petroleum, vitamin E, and gelatin. The compositions disclosed are a scalp lotion, a hair conditioner, a nail hardener, a hair colour restorer, an acne cream, a moisturizing cream and an anti-seborrheic hair conditioner.
