A disposable syringe is assembled from parts which may be stored in a compact package, Figure 6 (not shown), and comprises a flexible, foldable, fluid tight bag 14, an end closure member having a tubular part 16 and a cap part 12 having a nozzle receiving opening and an axially extending wall securable to or integral with part 16 and an elongated tubular nozzle 10 having an end 22 adapted to fit into the opening and at least one discharge port 25, the bag being readily removably attachable to the closure member and the nozzle being readily removably attachable to the cap part. The cap 12 may have a lip 42 co-operating with a circumferential ring 44 on the tubular part 16 to retain the cap 12, the open end of the bag 14 being retained between lip 42 and ring 44 in a fluid-tight manner. The nozzle 10 has a central bore 20 and is secured in the cap 12 by a nozzle retaining sleeve (36) Figure 2, in the centre of the cap which springs over a tapered part (32) of the nozzle and seats around a part (30) of reduced diameter, a rubber gasket 28 providing a seal. The nozzle may alternatively be screwed into the cap, or have a tapered end (72), Figure 4, retained by friction in a tapered socket (74) in the cap. The bag may be retained and sealed on the tubular part by an O-ring (82), Figure 8, clamped between the tubular part and cap, Figure 9, or the tubular part may have a circumferential groove (98), Figure 5, which co-operates with an inwardly extending protrusion (99) on the cap to secure the parts together, the bag being retained between groove and protrusion. The tubular part and cap may alternatively be screwed together or made in one piece with a circumferential groove (81), Figure 7 for retaining an O-ring (79) securing the bag to the tubular part and cap. Alternatively, the cap may be formed with a relatively long tapered part (90), Figures 10, 11, which is used in storage to contain the other parts, the ends being sealed by a plug (92) and a cap(96) with a central cap (93) over a nozzle receiving part of cap (96). The nozzle may be in two parts (94, 95). The bag is secured and sealed on the tapered part (90) by a tubular clamping part (91). All the components may be made from polyethylene or polypropylene. A packet of powder for mixing with the fluid dispensed may be included in the sealed package.
