1,261,475. Mattresses. PROFILIA-WERKE PRECKEL & WAELTERMANN G.m.b.H. & CO. K.G. July 20, 1970 [July 23, 1969], No.35086/70. Heading A4M. A mattress with a spring interior 12 covered by a layer 131 of foamed plastics includes two or more spaced tubes 14, 14<SP>1</SP> extending over the width of the mattress, disposed between the spring interior 12 and the foam layer 131 and filled with air or water. Each tube 14, 14<SP>1</SP> is filled or emptied independently of the other. Bellows 17 and deflating valves 18 are associated with each tube 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, the bellows 17 being embedded in the mattress. The tubes 14, 14<SP>1</SP> are supported on a rigid plate 16.
