Abstract

1,254,858. Valves; pipe joints. J. B. RATELBAND. 27 Dec., 1968, No. 61513/68. Headings F2G and F2V. Securing a check valve between two pipe flanges 4, the housing 1 of which check valve is externally threaded at its extremities for possible mating connections with internally threaded pipes, is effected by securing elastomeric rings 2 upon the threaded extremities and fixing the valve between the flanges 4 by bolts 5, each ring being provided with a gasket-forming radially and inwardly directed rim 3, and with circumferential recesses 16 of different radial depth, which recesses enable the elastomeric rings to be used with flanges 4 having apertures lying on a circle of diameter different from that as shown. The valve member 6 is guided for movement with respect to its seat 12 by a stem 8 and ribs 9 and is biased towards the seat by a spring 10, both the seat 11 and the guide-constituting casing 7 being secured to the housing 1 by rings 13 and 15, respectively.
