Abstract

1,235,852. Ornamenting. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 13 June, 1968 [15 June, 1967], No. 27650/67. Heading B6G. [Also in Divisions C4 and G5] A laminated indicator plaque comprises a first opaque sheet 14, a second opaque sheet 15 which is of non-reflective material, and a rear sheet 13 of a translucent material having a substantially lower reflectance than sheet 14; indicia 17 of V-shaped cross-section are cut through sheets 14 and 15 and partially through sheet 13. The surfaces 19 reflect light transmitted through sheet 13 when rear-illuminated. As described, the indicator is illuminated by a source 10, e.g. an electroluminescent panel, bonded to sheet 13 by a P.V.C. tape 11. A protective layer 16 may be applied to the front of the laminate. The indicia grooves 17 are formed by engraving. The plaque may be curved.
