A golf club head comprises a striker portion which is heavier at each end than at intermediate parts, the ends being enlarged and/or containing plugs of heavier material, and a socket portion connected to the striker portion which socket has a bore for the club shaft laterally offset from the heel of the club head, viewing the club head in end elevation. In Fig. 2, the striker portion 10 is thickened at its ends 10b in which weighting plugs may be provided, and is integrally connected by an arm 12 to a cylindrical socket portion 11 having a bore 13 open at both ends and offset from the heel 10c of the club head. In further embodiments (applied to putters), the offset distance is variable, e.g. by means of a cranked socket portion screwed to an extension of the striker portion and adjustable with a lock-nut, or by means of an enlarged socket portion with two parallel bores, one similarly receiving the striker extension and one for the shaft. In Fig. 10, a slotted arch 33 connects the ends of the striker 31. and a socket 34 with a slotted lug 37 is slidable along and/or across the arch by means of a square-section bolt 38 passing through both slots and secured by a nut. The club head components are preferably formed as precision castings in a metal.
