Abstract

1,220,098. I.C. engine lubricating systems. BRITISH MOTOR CORP. Ltd. May 6, 1969, [May 9, 1968], No. 21918/68. Heading F1B. [Also in Division F2] In an I. C. engine, in which a rotary oil pump 1 is mounted on a crankshaft extension, the lubricating system comprises inter-connected oil ways 20 which form a duct in the crank-shaft having outlets through which filtered oil is delivered to the main bearings 22 and the big-end bearings 23. Oil flows in the direction of the arrows through a strainer 6, pump 1, and a centrifugal filter assembly 13 which includes a filter element 17. The system includes a pressure relief valve 36.
