Abstract

1,203,093. Dental posts. A. E. EDELMAN and L. I. LINKOW. 15 Sept., 1967, No. 42255/ 67. Heading A5R. An implant post, for dentistry comprises an intra-osseous portion extending from a coronal portion, the intra-osseous portion having a radially vented axially extending cavity which is open at the end of the intra-osseous portion remote from the coronal portion. As shown, the coronal portion includes a screw 38 for securing a coping &c., and the intra-osseous portion comprises two ribs 37 supporting a thread 36. Alternative posts have intra-osseous portions comprising a cage-like structure (Figures 3-6, not shown), a threaded part and an openwork part (Figure 10, not shown), an apertured hollow part (Figure 8, not shown), a hollow part supporting a spring member (Figures 9, 10, not shown), or one or more helical screw members (Figures 11, 12, not shown).
