A strip for sealing panes, facing sheets or similar sheet-like bodies, p, Fig. 3; g, Fig. 8; with respect to a carrier frame 10, and in the form of a continuous length, comprises, one or more sealing portions 3 of a permanently resilient and adhesive material, e.g. from the group consisting of synthetic rubber and butyl rubber, which under pressure will remain stuck to the pane &c, and secured thereto as by embedding therein a support portion 2, e.g. of metal or stiff plastics which is longitudinally flexible and compression resistant transversely, and serves in use to secure the sealing portion(s) 3 against being squeezed off and/or out from between the pane &c. and the carrier frame as when the glazing strip 11 presses the plate P against the frame 10. The embedded support portion may take other forms such as wavy, straight strip like or rod or tubular section. Alternatively, the sealing portions) 3 may be contained in pockets or recesses in one or both sides of the support portion 2 and slightly projecting from the surface of the support as shown in Fig. 8, applied to a frame 10 in the case of a double glaze unit 9. The ends of the legs 8 of the strip are formed with sealing lips 5 which seal against the pane 8 and the top of the frame 10 or pressure strip 11. As shown in Fig. 8 the spacer 13 between the panes 9 is of steel sheet bent into hollow sectional shape with overlapping border zones 15. The exposed surfaces of the sealing portion(s) before use may have a removable non- fibrous protective film.
