Abstract

1,187,792. Pressure die-casting machines. IDRA-PRESSEN G.m.b.H. 24 April, 1967 [9 Nov., 1966], No. 18850/67. Heading B3F. The plunger 14 of a pressure die-casting machine is operated by a piston 12 moving in a cylinder 11 comprising a pressure chamber 17 in communication with a pressure reservoir 18 via a pressure relief valve 19. The plunger 14 is operated initially by a pressure fluid system (not shown) and, in order to avoid a pressure peak at the end of the mould filling operation, at a certain pressure in the chamber 17 the valve 19 operates to allow a large quantity of pressure medium to flow from the chamber 17 to the pressure reservoir 18. The setting of the valve 19 is adjustable by the spindle 20. A pressure control valve 23 is used to adjust the loading of the chamber 17.
