Abstract

The switch of the Specification 1,083,980, has its annular permanent magnet 13 adjustably mounted on a housing 2 enclosing the sealed magnetic reed contact unit 1. The magnet has a threaded brass bush (Fig. 2, not shown) fitted on to a screw-thread 3 on the housing so that rotation of the magnet sets itspositi on relative to the contacts. Contact leads from both ends of the sealed unit 1 are led through pasages 12 into a mounting plate 1 to terminals 14. The threaded part 3 of the housing may be used to mount the switch on a board or bracket. The magnet may hold the contacts closed after energization of the coil which requires a reverse pulse to reset the contacts or may hold the contacts closed unless the coil is energized.
