A device for producing a desired alignment of a prosthetic limb comprises end plates 21, 22 slidable in directions at right angles to one another across the major axis of the limb and at least two discs 13, 14, 15, 16 of wedge-shaped cross-section relatively rotatable about the limb axis and a locking disc 26 to lock the discs in adjusted position. The main element of an artificial limb comprises a tube 30 telescopically adjustable in end tubes 31, 32, each end tube being connected by a releasable ball and socket joint 18, 28 to a rod 17 threaded in one end plate 21 which is slidable in a dovetail slot in the second end plate 22. The discs 13, 14, 15, 16 surround the: rod 17. For adjusting the alignment of the limb, the ball and socket joint, the locking disc 26 and set screws 23 securing the end plates together are released. The discs 13 to 16 are rotated by tommy bars 20 to porvide the desired angle between the end plates 21, 22 and the axis of the limb and the end plates adjusted relative to one another. The parts are then locked together again in adjusted position. The discs may be located between slotted end plates (Figures 1 to 5, not shown).
