[Also in Divisions B4-B5] A work-holding clamp comprises a housing having an end plate 16 and two side walls 14, a power means 29 on the end plate having a rod 37 extending through the plate and carrying a transverse shaft 40 to engage a slot 46 in a holddown arm 22 mounted on a pivot 20 within the housing, the arrangement being such that operation of the power means causes the arm to clamp the work. A plate 25 shaped to engage the work W is secured to two arms 22 by a plate 26. The shaft 40 is supported by rollers 41 engaging slots 42 in the side walls 14. In a modification, the rollers (69), Fig. 4 (not shown), engage slots in arms (65) which move between unslotted walls (53). There may be two clamping arms moved differentially by having slots set at different angles.
