Abstract

1,060,120. Adjustable beds. J. NESBITEVANS & CO. Ltd. Nov. 12, 1965 [Dec. 24, 1964; Sept. 2, 1965], Nos. 52512/64 and 37470/65. Heading A4J. A hydraulic jack, preferably of the motor car type, is detachably mounted, in an adjustable bed frame, to vary the height of the bed. As shown, jack 52 acts on an X-frame bed support by turning member 20 about its pivot 26. Member 21 has a sliding pivotal inter-connection 42 with member 20 and is connected by means of pivoted links 33 to the bed frame 16. Links 33 may be adjustable in length to vary the inclination of frame 16. Jack 52 is controlled by an operating pedal 63 journalled in frame member 10.
