Abstract

1,046,853. Mounting electrical equipment. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. May 16, 1963 [May 17, 1962], No. 19079/62. Heading H1R Electronic equipment comprises a plurality of circuit cards, each having at least one identifying perforation, an alignment means being associated with an apertured panel to identify the cards. As shown, three plug-in circuit cards are arranged in planes parallel to a front panel 2 of the equipment. Each card has a combination of holes 4 which is unique in relation to the other cards in the set. A rod 6 passes through the holes in a common position on all cards, so identifying the combination of cards by reference to an aperture in said common position in the panel 2. The rod may complete an electrical circuit without which the equipment will not function; so, the end of the rod may engage a spring clip 7 and connect conductors 8, 9, on rear panel 10. The coding of holes 4 may ensure that an operatively incompatible combination of cards will not present holes in a common position. A light beam may replace rod 5 to provide an optical indication on the front panel.
