Abstract

Filter unit consists of a symmetrical housing around a central filter element. There is a gap between the outer shell and the filter element which narrows towards the outlet end. Inlet passage has a swirler element mounted in it. The filter medium is of a hydrophobic foam material e.g. a plastic foam. The ratio of the dia. of the housing to that of the filter element decreases towards the outlet. This can be achieved by a conical housing with a cylindrical element or vice versa. Use for liquids and gases.
