Abstract

The telephone receptacle is designed to facilitate the taking of written notes during the course of a telephone conversation, account being taken of the fact that normally only one hand is free. The telephone (2) is fixed to a platform (1), which may be flush with the desk top or raised, at four points (8). A note pad (10) is fixed by rectractable pins (12) to a protruding lip (9) inclined forwards at 45 deg. thus presenting the writing surface to the listener in the most convenient manner. The note pad is kept firmly in place by a threaded knob (20) which screws down to clamp it. A groove is provided to hold a pen or pencil. The receptacle can be arranged with the lip overhanging the desk edge or elsewhere raised on feet.
