Abstract

The electric kitchen knife has individual finger controls (8, 9) to control the motor and release for the blade (6) from its working position. The two controls (8, 9) locate side by side with a safety slide (10). The slide (10) may cover either of the controls (8, 9) preventing their simultaneous operation. The arrangement reduces the likelihood of accidents when removing the blade. The housing (3) contains an electric motor and incorporates a motor switch (8). The switch (8) activates the motor which drives an oscillating demountable blade (6). The blade release button (9) is also mounte on the housing (3), and the two controls (8, 9) may be mounted on the end of the handle (2) nearest the blade (6).
