Abstract

The threaded bolt has a locknut which is prevented from working loose. The threaded end (3) of the bolt is tapered at the tip (4), with axial grooves (5) on the truncated conical surface. There is a circular neck (6) between the threaded and bevelled sections. The nut (2) also has axial grooves around its outer surface, and slips over the bevelled tip onto the treaded shank of the bolt. A cap (7) is pushed over the end of the bolt to cover both bevelled tip and nut. The cap has a tapered grooved recess to match the tip, and the whole inside surface is furrowed to fit firmly on the end. A circlip (10) inside the cap (7) fits into the neck (6) between the bevelled end and the threaded section, to retain the cap in place.
